What do you think of this slug for a 12 gauge?
I was thinking at around 1200 fps

Should work, but what would keep it from tumbling?

I've been thinking about reloading slugs myself. What about a plain round lead ball?

Jbm stability calculator says it will stabilize in a rifled slug gun at that velocity and a little lower.

Lyman manual shows 475 grain slugs (smooth sided) at a velocity from about 1,300 to almost 1,600 fps depending on components and powder. With nearly 75% heavier slug (775 grains ) 1,200 fps will likely be max velocity, and recoil should be interesting.
keep em talkin' while I reload
