H&R 22 mag accuracy

I have the opportunity to pick up a NIB H&R 22 mag.  I have checked the first 10 pages of H&R rimfire forum and have not really found anything on Accuracy for a run of the mill H&R 22 mag out to 150 yds.  Any help or opinions will be appreciated,

Mine is very accurate...water bottle accurate at least.  At 100 yds. I can hold MOA.  Thats about as far as I'm likely to shoot it.
 
Mine tends to like heavier bullets.
 
I have both the 22 mag. and a 17, and don't want to part with either.

Mine is a STD barrel with a 4x12 Tasco mil dot scope.

My Ultra Varmint 22M has taken the place of a custom built Win. Low Wall/Mdl 52 HB 22M and 3 Hornets that I handloaded cast lead bullets for. It is not in the same class for accuracy as my BSA Martini International MkIII 22LR, but most 22 M arent (at least Ive never seen one that is). As a field gun and fun little steel silhouette shooter its good enough for me. If I 'needed' a faster/heavier bullet 22 it would likely be a .223. The ammo offerings for the maggie are pretty good now, from light/fast to (chrono'ed) 1500ish fps 45gr flash plated lead HP Win. Dynapoints that I like. If I ever find some of those 50s that CW shoots I'll try em too. Ive even heard that the 1350ish fps WRF work, but those Dynapoints are good for me.
I say get it, you dont see them very often, and if it doesnt suit you somebody else here will likely snatch it up quick.

I have a standard bbl with a Nikon 4x prostaff scope. At 50 yards it averages 1/2" groups or less with cci maxi-mag jhp ammo. I have an ammo box full of .22 mag ammo from 30 gr v-max to the 50 gr federal but when I went to sight it in I started with the cci because it seems to be the most readily available. When I saw how well it shot, when I did my part I had one hole 3 shot groups, I never even tried out the other ammo.


I plan on using this combo for close range predators (50 yds and in) and my 12 yr old son is comfortable with it as he's been shooting a 410 ga pardner for a couple of yrs already.

Saturday, I was at the range again and my hunting buddie asked me to sight his Sporter in 22M. Its a cobbled together H&R with a Varmint barrel, receiver and plastic std stocks and now a Simmons 3x9 cheapo on a Weaver 82 base and a set of Weaver med rings. Not the prettiest thing, BUT...

This was shooting Remington 40g SP and Winchester 40G HP ammo. BOTH shot these groups. Its a good shooter!
