These kids have a 40 min bus ride when there are good schools in their own neighborhood. Several parents say they will NOT send their kids back to that school. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

This is America. They will send their kids to the school they are told to send them to or face an IRS audit! We cannot tolerate parent's deciding what is good for their kids!

stop bussing and end the fuel crisis !
BTW a case on reverse discrimination goes befor the sup. cort. this sesion , maybe it will end all this crazyness .

I thought all busing to gain racial equality had stopped 10 to 15 years ago.

At least some of the busing in Wichita is to spread kids to available space. If they did not they would have to build extra schools in some areas while having only partially filled schools in another area. Don't know which is cheaper in the long run, building extra buildings and added staffing or the busing.

buildings vs fuel is like insulation vs refigeration. You pay for buildings and insulation once and fuel and refigeration for ever . Seems like a no brainer to me .  ;) Here the kids from one side of town pass the kids from another side as they travel cross town to school. Then get this two to three schools get together to have sports teams instead of each having their own. We are talking schools with hundreds of kids in each school.
