Better teach your buddy how to properly use a trigger, or he should send it back to Savage for repairs.  I have only 2 Savages with accutriggers, but both work properly and are smooth as silk..a definite improvement over any company's "lawyer approved" plain-Jane trigger..
My new Ruger American accuracy trigger squeezed hard at first..so I took it back to my dealer and a slight adjustment by him, brought out a trigger which works as nicely as the Savages'.
Both Savage and Ruger with the American have triggers which outperform the simple "lawyer"  triggers most  all basic rifles come equipped with (IMO).

What good does that do when the gun will not fire.  Savages and the Ruger American are both POSs.

Now that's funny!!!!!!! And Swamp accuses others of prevaricating! ;D

Just because you have not does not mean it does not happen . I have seen two bolt handles resodered on 700's and one removed and reattached because it came from the facrory crooked.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

Swampy has his right to his opinion about Ruger and Savage rifles as long as he realizes his opinion doesn't mean much only as much as anyones.  His opinion is his and everyone has a right to state their opinion whether it be right or wrong.  Now when someone is as bias as him well it may not mean as much as others.
Good Shooting,
George

Some guys are Ford guys, Some are Harley guys. and beyond all logic they will support their product no matter what.
Swamp man is the same with the Big green and yellow machine.  If Remington owns it, it is the best you gan get no matter what the facts say.
I have seen a die hard ford guy tell someone the Mustang 2 was a good car no matter that it was a Pinto with a different body.  Remington has had their fair share of Pintos and Mustang 2's but he will defend them to the end.
He will defent the Remington 770 to the end as being a great rifle and bash the Ruger American that took the same idea and advanced it.  I also have seen him bash the Russian single shots but praise the Remington imports of them as good rifles with the only differnece is the Remington stamp on the barrel.
I actually like ot read some of his posts to see how far he will go to defend the Remingtons.
I own a bunch of rifles and like them from the Cz, Ruger, Remington, Winchester, Marlins, Sako and not to mention Mauser. All are good rifles that do what I wanted them to do.

Perhaps but you really need to read his bigfoot posts.

BTW, I have a Remington and like it.  I also have the Savage I've talked about as well as plenty of other makes of guns including a couple odd ones.  I like them all for what they do well.  I never could see having fanatical brand loyalty.  I've ridden Japanese and Italian bikes for year but I used to work on Harleys and I liked most of them.

There is only one good boltgun that is affordable for the working man.  That's the Model 700.
