Scoped 410?

Am trying to work a trade on a youth 410, but it is scoped.  Are they d/t?  If this was done "professionally" it shouldn't be a concern, but what should I look for when I put my eyes on it.  I was told that it was scoped for a young turkey hunter.  If the trade goes through, I won't want it scoped.  I'll have to find appropriate plug screws I guess.  Thanks for the input.

To my knowledge, there has never been a scope mount ready .410.  Even the .45colt-.410 survivor isn't scope ready.  Luckily the .410 has a lot of barrel swell, so if it wasn't bungled very badly, it shouldn't be into the chamber.  I'd make sure to get a look down the chamber area with a good light and make sure that isn't the case.  Lot of people have been putting little red-dot scopes on the lighter kicking shotguns for quick pointing.  Is there still a bead up front or did they cut off the choke too?  If there's no bead, the red-dot might be the way to go.  ;)

The bead is still there, case colored frame, pallet wood stock, and it looks nice.  It's from another forum.  He didn't like my first offer, so I am going to try another.  Thanks for they reply.

Good advice from Tacleberry, there is plenty of  thickness in the barrel to drill/tap for a scope rail. You might want to check out closely what scope rail was used, and look to see if the hammer was "bobbed" or a hammer spur attached. Depending what you will use it for, a scope can be a good tool for placing that small, expensive shot load exactly where you want it. Here's a pic of my scoped .410, doing exactly what I set it up to do at 40 yards:

I wanted it for my 8 yo to squirrel hint with.  I guess it wasn't in the cards.  I'm still keeping my eyes open though.

That groundhog always carry that plastic around?
