Jeep 6X6 I want one
« on: October 17, 2012, 08:08:33 AM »
Just ran across this.  If the Alaska Troopers are getting them, I can wait to see how they handle the Alaska Wilderness.   But I still want one.  It could prevent some winching on the way to the cabin.

Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

You might like the concept of it but you'd learn to hate the engine. It was suppose to be Chryslers advancement into the current technology engines and it has failed miserably so far. Heads are being replaced about as fast as they can make them and when the dealers can't get the parts they just replace the gaskets and the owners never know the difference until it's on their nickel to replace the faulty head design. When Daimler left Chrysler they pretty much had gutted all technologies. It's put them about 7-9 years behind everybody else technology wise.

from what ive gleamed for the jeep fourm that problem was only in the first two years of production of the new body style. I belive that was 07 and 08 then the motor had a major redesign

The problematic Pentastar engine was first offered in the 2012 Jeeps. This is a current issue.

in a word.. junk.
in the 'real' off road world wheel articulation is paramount. the rear wheels on the jeep 6x6 are way to close for any real travel.
it may be ok on snow or sand, but its doubtful that it would handle any obstacles or pitched terrain.
