leupold mount on ruger SBH
« on: October 08, 2012, 10:19:07 AM »
I am getting ready to mount a scope base on my Ruger SB. Leupold 53552 looks neat. all will require drilling and tapping (except weaver 301) just wonder if I need med, or will low DD rings work. tks for help.

I have a Leupold base and rings on my Contender and use low rings on it. I am pretty sure that I use low rings on both of the bases that are pictured in your other thread as well. If you are going to tap your Ruger anyway, I strongly recommend the TSOB mount. With the three ring setup it will hold your scope in place regardless of recoil. The TSOB was designed by JD Jones for use with his "hand cannons". I sent my SBH to his shop and had them install it, the rings were included.
