I'm in Red Stick (Baton Rouge).

I've had a H&R Handi in .45-70 that I've used for a few years for "Primitive Weapon" season (PWS).  I've actually got it for sale on Bayou Shooter so I can purchase a Buffalo Classic.

While I have this for the PWS, I'm planning on hunting some with a TC Hawken Clone.  Oh, I hunt in Mississippi, though I might hunt a little in Louisiana this season.

I picked up a Handi last week. I ended up on this forum because of that. They know more about handi rifles here than @ Marlin, H&R and NEF combined. I used to have a least in Mississippi. I let a friend take it over around1998 because of the hassles. He decided to start making money on it a year later by subleasing. Hunt only Louisiana since.  Never regretted it.

I hunt with family in MS.  If it wasn't for that, I'd hunt here.  The license air is cheaper.

hidy ;D
don't mean to butt in.
yall were talking about buying
new handi's
i remember the folks in loo-zee-ann
like puglia's and heberts and simmons
use to have 45/70 and .444 handi's
way less than you could get one here,
i guess because they sold so many
for the p.w.s. there.
they still go for less?
