These will be the last two competitions of the year at the N-SSA (North-South Skirmish Assoc.) located at Fort Shenandoah in Gainesboro, Virginia just 7 miles west of Winchester on route 522. We have the longest firing line of it's type in the world at nearly a mile long.
The first will be the Stonewall Skirmish Oct. 20-21 with the mortar match at 10am Saturday the 20th
The next match will be the Halloween Skirmish Oct. 27-28 with the mortar match at 10am & artillery match at 4pm
These events are free to the public. The link below will take you to the home page of the N-SSA with directions. There will also be team competitions in Revolver, carbine, musket, smoothbore & repeater. This last all day Saturday & most of Sunday. if you wish to stay the entire weekend a tent site could be made available. There is food onsite as well as everything in Winchester just a few miles away.
There are many original mortar & artillery pieces you'll see as well as reproductions to exacting detail firing in competition. The largest mortar there will be original and a 8 incher at that. All these matches are something to see in person and HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!!!
