35 Whelen Value
« on: November 27, 2012, 03:15:56 PM »
Ok, so after reading about how much you guys like your Whelen's, I've been considering one. I have one located, a 7400 Whelen of reportedly excellent condition asking $550.  What do you guys think????

Pass. For that amount or just a little more you can find a new Mod 750 in the Whelen. The 750 is a very much improved model, worth it for sure. Good luck to you.

I would check around on those 750's as well.   I'm not sure if they are considered reliable yet. I think the 7600 is pretty widely favored over the semi-auto, and conventional wisdom is that if you just gotta have a semi-auto, the Browning BAR is the gold standard.

In Ontario that would be a great price for a Whelen in that condition.

I bought a 750 carbine in Whelen a few years ago, and never could get it to cycle reliably.  The store eventually refunded me my money.  I hope they've solved thos problems now.
