Buffalo classic
« on: October 22, 2012, 10:18:45 AM »
Afternoon all. I just got my first (actually third, the other two are shotguns) NEF firearm. It is an 1871 Buffalo Classic in the 45-70 Gov't. I saw a post on here from back in Janruary by a guy whose uncle made a leather ammo carrier for the buttstock. I can't find it now. Can anyone help?

I found one for a 38-55 on Ebay.  It was beautiful ( I sold the rifle :'( ) dark leather lace-up.  Held 8 rounds if I recall and cost under $45.00 if I remember.  Also some of the Western Rifle supply houses carry them. Try the Black Powder  places.  Been thinking of the same thing for my BC.  I shoot 100% Black Powder in it and have done some brss work to it, a leather shell holder would be neat.  Accurate rifle BTW with BP..

I'll do some looking on line if I find something I'll post back.
