Can 444 Marlin Brass be trimmed to appropriate length such that it with a 45 Colt Bullet (either lead or jacketed) be used if Trail Boss were used to keep pressures at correct range?  As always the idea is to get the bullet closer to the rifling.  If I can get this worked (better accuracy) out I also want to get some skinner sights installed.

Yes, but not necessary.  A fine gentleman, who lives in a southern swamp, has figured out how to make the 45/410 shoot a bullet w/o resorting to longer, expensive brass.  Hopefully, he will chime in and help you out with your gun.

If you really want to get to the rifling in your gun you can expand 9.3x74R brass for a .452 bullet.  This brass should let you touch the rifling if you want to, but it is kinda pricey.

Why be difficult, when with a little extra effort you can be impossible?
