Anheuser-Busch halts beer to make water for Sandy victims  Published November 03, 2012
FoxNews.com    A Georgia based brewery has switched from churning out beer to water to help victims of superstorm Sandy, MyFoxAtlanta reports.
For a few days, beer will take a backseat at Anheuser-Busch, making water a top priority for those who need it.

Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5
"It's devastating. We have a lot of employees who have families who have been hurt personally by this," said Rob Haas, general manager of the plant.
The brewery plans on shipping 1 million cans of drinking water to New York and New Jersey from its Cartersville, Ga., brewery, MyFoxAtlanta reports.

This is not the first time the company has changed production to help out those in need. Aneheuser-Busch helped victims of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Since then, they've shipped more than 70 million cans of water to disaster areas.

"When you look at the devastation, this is the least thing that we can do. We're good at this. This is our way of helping," said Haas.
"We're going to be staging water at different locations in New York, in Brooklyn and also three places in New Jersey and then the Red Cross will be in charge of distributing it to where it's needed most, " said Haas.

Good for them. It isn't the government that provides the best disaster relief. They have proven over and over that they are inept at doing anything efficient. Its private enterprise and people that make a difference in disaster relief.   Not the government as they would have us believe. Even state governments are inept when it comes to disaster relief.

I've had a couple cans of "Miller Lite" water about 20 years ago. It wasn't labeled as such I don't think, it was a can that was recognizeable to me.

Anheuser Busch has proven over and over again they are a 100% put America first company.   I am sure they will meet the challenge again as needed.  I no longer drink Beer, due to medication.  But when I did I drank Budweiser, Busch Bavarian, and Michalob.  When we have an event with the wife's office, I always bring Budweiser and Michelob products for the troops.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Great company. Place I used to work for built most of the automatic container inspection machines on their production lines. Every time we went to their plant in Van Nuys, CA they treated us like kings. We would run out of food once in a while at our company parties but AB made sure we never ran out of beer. Don't know if they still provide it but back then every AB employee who wanted it was given a free case of beer per month.

Their plant is located a few miles from the epicenter of the '94 Northridge earthquake. One of the 1st things they announced after the quake hit was that anyone could come to them for water, or they would arrange free delivery. They have their own well, separate from city water.

My family received several cases during Agnes. We thought it was the orginal lite beer.  :)
