Damn political phone calls.

I am sooooo sick and tired of my quiet being invaded by phone calls about a candidate. To compound the problem, My mother is at deaths door. Every phone call could be a message from hospice to get in to see her while we can. I'm voting for the party from whom I receive the LEAST calls.  No respect for a persons privacy.

My wife and I did-away with our home phone for that reason.  we now use our cells only, problem solved.

i am getting the D.... calls on both my cell, and land line, even after calling both party hq and demanding that my number be removed from their call lists.  Something must be done about this.

Kimber. I'm truly sorry about your Mom, Patty and I both  lost ours within a few months with a grandbaby in between. The calls will only go on for 2 more days. Most of mine are from 2 reps running locally. POWDERMAN.

You guys don't have Caller ID display or whatever it is called  in your place?
 
Otherwise let your answering unit pick up all calls.

Many times political calls will show "unknown name/number" on the ID. Sometimes it is under some other weird business like name so you are not sure if it may be important or not and pick up. I am surprised at the number of calls we have received from republican candidates when both my wife and myself are registered democrats, in fact many more calls than we have received from democrats.

It is ridiculous. That "Do not call list" should apply to all soliciting including the political type. You cant get away from the constant bombardment of political ads anywhere. Do they really believe that they are going to discover and untapped block of voters over the telephone?

Just received a call from John McCain with 40 min. left for the voting polls to be open. That says enough about him.

Yes those phone calls help. It will remind many to vote.
If you ever work the phones you will find that your number must be recorded to show, you are who you say you are but the number that comes up will be either all zeros. or unknown caller when you call someone on the list. It is all automated.
In todays politics more is needed than just a vote. If everyone that is able got out and worked for their party, things would change but that will never happen. So we get what we get and deserve it.
