« on: November 13, 2012, 03:32:39 PM »
Well I finially broke down and got me a super redhawk and am pleased with it. Now I am wanting to add a ultra dot to my redhawk. The question I have it which one? And whats the best mounting system for the ultra dot?
I would like to see a pic of your SRH with one on it if you have one.

I am using the 1 inch tube on mine. I use the factory rings, and they work great.  You won't be able to use the 30mm Match-dot as the rings are to close together, and the red-dot won't fit. You can use the Untra-dot 4 30mm if you get some 30mm rings. I think they make a Weaver type mount that mounts to the factory ring integral mounting on the gun.  Never had a problem with my set up at all, over 7 years on my SRH 454 Casull.

If I had a complaint for my Ultra 4 dot, it would be I wish they'd improve the way their daylight filter attaches. Kinda hard to do in the timber, very fine threads and Illinois gets cold during gun season.
By the way I use mount and rings from Jack Wiegand on my Smith.
