ATTENTION! : commercial
« on: November 08, 2012, 04:01:55 AM »
The old tactic of increaseing volume durring commercials is probably recognized by most. I have noticed lately. One, having a ring tone in the background. Might not be your ringtone but we are condtioned to it and we think "who's phone is ringing?" and pay attention.
-
Another is pointless  screen motion in a program. I noticed this on "Fox News" as they presented state election results. I thought it might be to hold the attention of video gamers while something that didn't interest them was on.
-
Makes me wonder how many ways we are influenced that we never recognize. Makes me wonder in wnat way we are influenced to think that we never recognize.

You noticed anything? ear

Yea, I remember a commercial on TV that I was totally ignoring.  Then there was a ring tone in the back ground.  the ring tone got my attention.  Still can not tell you the commercial for sure.  Seems like it was Flo and the Progressive Insurance Commercial.  But I've heard a ring tone on some tv shows as well.  Just out of the blue a ring tone.  got me to wondering why.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I hate those commercials, I treat em like hussein, mute, or change channels. On the loud commercials I know I read where that was supposed to have been stopped by law a year or so ago, but it hasn't. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Using the ring tone  reflects our subconscious insecurity. People have become dependent on the cell phone as an instant security blanket. We have a seance of security  having instant access to contact with others. Even though in an acute situation help might not be there in time. We feel insecure if the phone isn't at hand. That insecurity is a fear that can be used to manipulate our actions. Those that use media are looking for ways to get us to REACT in ways that are not logical decisions but just that, reactions. Those reactions are making the decision. We are being manipulated more as technology and knowledge of  it's use expands. 1984. ear
