There are very few things that look as graceful as a stick bow at full draw. I want to get back out there and start flinging arrows again but with daytime highs in the mid 20's it just isnt going to happen. I have a dozen douglas fir shafts that have been fletched up and ready to go for a few weeks but its too chilly to shoot.
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

Hey Swampy!
Good looking shooting form!
How many traditional bows do you shoot? I  have a whole herd of recurves, longbows, and hybrid longbows! Lot`s of fun and great exercise!!

I'm wearing a leather shooting glove.  The camo jersey glove has the tips of three fingers cut off and is slipped over the shooting glove.  I just leave it like that during practice because that's the way I hunt.  Mostly it's to keep skeeters off exposed flesh.  They can be pretty bad during bow season.

ok.
i used to use tabs until they
got so shoddy.
the ones they offered when i first
started were horsehide, which made
for a really great slick smooth surface.
of course, my horsehide glove and tabs
are long gone, lost, worn out, forgotten. . .
i finally ,very begrudgingly started trying
to use releases. i don't really like them,
although i've learned to use them. i
finally found a relax release that is more
natural although i still don't like 'em.
