DD,
While the following video is not cannon related it will give a little insight into why it takes so long to get an answer or get a transfer approved....... I think it relates to the topic if you feel otherwise feel free to delete.

DD,
Thanks for posting this,
So as long as it does not use fixed ammunition or modern means of firing they view it as falling into the antique class..... and you are not producing them for resale...
So this confirms the way I have been reading this for some time....

Doesn't sound good? Ominous?  Depends on your point of view I guess.

Since I am going overseas and back to work for a year, that might not sound so good and a bit ominous for a retired guy.  When I return I am going to spend some time in  Oregon chasing a lady I knew in high school, now some may say that might not sound so good and is a bit ominous-all depends on whether she wants to be caught or not.

I will tell you this my, current title-widower, now that doesn't sound good and is ominous.

Yea, best wishes, good luck to you, DD.  We would say more nice things, but we can't think straight just now.  You guys haven't heard the best part yet!!  Double D. just hinted that we could watch over all his cannons when he is gone.  WOW.  Mike already has ideas about shrinking  a couple of 5" wide, 3/4" thick, mild steel bands on the breech of DD's "One Mile Mortar" to convert it into a "Two Mile Mortar"!  And AFTER that work is done, I have plans to finish it off in true 1950's style with a saddle over the vent and a '57 Chevy Windshield with Dingle Balls all around mounted just ahead of the trunnions.  A Big Boomer and Show Stopper!!! ;) ;)

What an opportunity!

T&M

Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!

How much weight is that going to add?  It's already more or less immovable by less than a squad of cannoneers.
