hello again everyone.
just bought a new lee annivarsary kit and noticed that the ram on the press is slightly out of line with the opening in the top where the dies go.
will this cause a problem?

.............YES!!!!! If it is really out of line when the die is in the press then it will cause a great deal of problems.....SORRY but LEE equipment ....except for some speciality items that are nice.....is the bottom of the quality ladder and if you can get a refund your money can be spent almost anywhere else with better results......both opinion and experience......IF you can't return it then try Lee and let the board know what they say........better luck and good shooting-loading!

Lee has outstanding customer service, they will do what it takes to make it right.  I doubt that they will even charge shipping.  Just give them a call.  I have a Lee challenger press that has loaded about 15,000 rounds  with no problems at all.  I have a pro 1000 that has been going strong for over 20 years.  I have had nothing but good service from Lee.

thanks for the replies guys.
i went ahead and loaded some 22-250 cases just to see how it turned out.
there seemed to be a slight variation in the shoulder, one side being very slightly longer than the other.   Also, after resizing about 3 boxes, 60 rounds,  6 had noticable dents in the  case close to the shoulder.  Would this be due to my sizing die being sat too deep or could it be due to the ram being slightly out of line?

The bludge is usually due to too much lube. Wipe them off good. If you mark some of your cases before sizing and put them in the same way you will be able to tell if the high side is always on the same side of the die. Chances are they are not. cases have soft spots so it should vary. If they are always on the same size then the piston bar is out of alignment.
