Stock preferences with a T/C Omega?
« on: November 22, 2012, 07:46:40 AM »
Looking at buying an Omega, I have heard some people complain about the std stock-though reviews seldom mention it negatively: What are Omega owners likes and dislikes with their stocks? Should I hold out for thumb-hole? Is laminate to heavy or unbalanced?

I started out with a thumbhole laminate.  Wish I had went for synthetic standard.  The laminate is not too heavy, but it is slick as a greased pig.  I didn't like the thumbhole because it was too uncomfortable to shoot left handed if the situation presented itself.  If T/C would make the laminated standard stock with checkering, that would get my vote!  Just my .02 from experience.

Some people complain because they have nothing better to do.

Get the synthetic standard.

I have an Omega with standard synthetic stock. It seems fine to me. I'm new to muzzleloading, but I really like my Omega.
