Dixie, how much are you looking to spend? I bought a Aimpoint PRO a few months ago. It's the only type of red dot/reflex sight I've ever used.  It works pretty well.  It comes with the mount for the AR15 flat top and can be removed really quick by turning the nob that it mounts with. It cost about $400. It's probably the best bang for the buck in optics right now.

Good luck, NYH1.

I put a Bushnell Trophy 1X28mm Multi-reticle sight on my Para 9x23 Open division USPSA/IPSC pistol. It has 4 reticles, cross hairs, 10 MOA dot, 3 MOA dot and a 3 MOA dot in a 65 MOA circle. It has 5 levels of red and 5 levels of green for each reticle. The green works well in lowering light levels.

The 65 MOA circle sounds huge but it is only 6.5" at 10 yards. It works for close or far since the dot in it is 3 MOA.

Bushnell MSRP is $146.95 but I got mine at the Sportsmans Warehouse for $80 some. Well under $100 anyway.

I really like it.

I ordered a Eotec for one of  AR-15s.  I read a lot of reviews and it was the highest rated for the size I was looking for.  My wife has a laser on her 9mm.  I might just get Trijicon sighes for my 1911 and for my AR.  My wife is right handed but left eye dominant.  I'm just getting everything prepared for either the economic colapse, which will eventually happen.  Or for a rogue nation exploding EMP bombs about the US with the resulting power outage and zapped electronics.   Congress was, about 5 years ago, going to spend about $200 million a year to get our power grid EMP proofed.  Don't know if that has started or not.  I think all vehicles manufactured or with refurbished electronics have them protected with grounded Faraday cages.   The Trijicon doesn't require batteries, and should be EMP proof.

The above two are what might happen that to me would be the most devistating for all.   Drought, hurricanes, tornadoes, vocanoes, earthquakes, will generally all be more localised.  Hurricanes can be prepared for.  Drought can be prepared for.   Hungry desperate people, especially with entitlement mentality, will not know how to cope.

During the Great Depression things were far different.  40% of Americans still lived on farms, so even people in the city had relatives who provided them with some food.  People were more polite, and more God fearing, thus more respectful.  No one depended on the government for bailouts of any kind.   Today most are not God fearing, nor the younger generation as respectful.  More are dependent.  Thus gangs can form to take from the ones who prepared.

Off my soapbox.

Let us know how you like the EOTech.  It came down to the Aimpoint PRO and EOTech 517 (IIRC).  I'd like to know what you think of your EOTech once you put it through it's paces.

God luck, NYH1.
