Pachmayr Grip
« on: December 09, 2012, 06:13:26 AM »
I put a Pachmayr grip on my 10" bull 30-30 old style Contender w/2x20 Burris.  It increased the pistol's total weight from 3 lbs, 12.2 oz to 4 lbs, 2.4 oz or 6.2 oz overall. That alone will substantially reduce recoil.  They must have put lead in that grip....

I like the way the new grip looks, fits the action, feels in my XL hand, and better fits in my Boyt canvas case.  I haven't shot it yet, but the recoil will surely be less.

Note: If you buy one, ~$50 at MidWayUSA, you'll need either a 3/16" hex bit on a long screwdriver or a 3/16" hex wrench with a long handle.
