I don't get it. I guess it's like deer opener for people who like to shop.

me and the wife went to do a "clean-up" after black friday (specials that didn't sell-out, plus most things are on sale the day after... why wait in line 12hrs to be first?).  and while she was jewelry shopping it hit me that men need to be represented in the jewelry market.......

buck/trophy adornments!  I'm going to spray-paint a chain gold, put a camo dew rag on him (drape it off the antlers maybe blue on the left and red on the right), put a bit of gold nail polish on a couple teeth, and put some cheap earrings on my next decent buck, and name him thuglife.  it could start a trend.

It really has emerged as a holiday in its own right, very similar to superbowl sunday. I know people who go just to people watch.

The wife and daughter went thursday evening ::) . But they went to Wally world at their 8 o clock sale. Said there was a lot of people there. But the store they went to is not down in the big city, so they were able to get in get there stuff and back home all in about 2 1/2 hours. And saved some money. Daughter went back next morning at 5 am. Said most of the crowds were all gone. Strolled in, went right up to some other things she wanted and right out without the lines :D . To their credit, they have only went to the black friday stuff in the big city once. Now they say been there done that  ;D

Took my daughters out late thursday evening. Well that won't happen again. I did wear an orange hat, should have worn the vest too I suppose, as I felt I should have been packing the AR. Mn. nice is a good thing when in that sort of crowd. 55 minutes to check out :o :o . I sat in the car after a tour of the store to witness for myself the foolishness.

Having witnessed the lines I do believe the stores could have charged $20 a pop for an express line with a gaurantee of 5 minute till out the door.

If you ever wondered what a SHTF situation would be like, the mob that storms into "Wally World" and similar large Stores is a mild example.

What could ever be worth that much to cause people to do this. If you didn't know any better you would think it was starving people fighting over a few loafs of bread. You couldn't pay me to go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving.

Seems like it could be fun. Imagine plowing through a horde of shoppers and you're yelling "get out of my way. It's mine. It's mine!"

Very child like.

I haven't been to madhouse sale since my kids were younger than my G'kids are now.
We would go in early and hide the stuff we wanted in another part of the store.  ;D

I have never like standing in line. I am not good with crowds. Heck I wont go shopping in the city unless really need something. So for me to go thru what these folks do, well no thank you. I have an old time general store next to the house. For Black Friday I went and had a fresh hot breakfast. Even got a special deal on it! well sort of, wife works there and she paid  ;D

I had never goin to a Black Friday sale befor last friday.  My wife wakes me at 3 AM . I drive 40 miles to get to the sporting goods store. The wife and I stand in line untill 5 AM but upon going in we get a $ 10 and $ 20 gift card. I wonted 17 Hornady Hornet reloading equipment but none were stocked. Picked up 2 ea Winchester wooden boxes holding 300 ea 22 LR HP ammo for $ 14.99 ea.  The wife and I wonted to eat so that cost nearly $ 20. I then  drove home.  I m 77 years old so I can say that went to the sale and got two boxes of ammo I dident need at no cost. But  80 miles at 40 cents per mile $32 and food $ 20 = $ 62 in the hole.

There is one day of the year I refuse to go to town----for anything. That's Black Friday which I think of as Idiot's Day.

I would go to the boonies and spend the day just prowling around but my wife says an old man like me has no business being off by myself like that. She won't go take care of me because she and our daughter have to go do Black Friday. I'm not dumb enough to tell her it's really Idiot's Day.  ;D

To her credit she did bring home some bargains this Friday.
