I am looking for a hunt to do in January 21-22 within a couple hour drive of DFW/Little Elm area . I did one last year and was very disappointed it was in the Bowie area . It will need to be a late Monday evening to say midnight Tuesday hunt. Plane leaves 7am Wednesday.   Any help /direction will be appreciated..Thanks Pat

you didn't say if you are looking for
public hunting opportunities or not.
i would look into lbj grasslands
northwest of fort worth or the caddo
up close to telephone and honey grove.
you will likely do better on either place
during the week like you wrote.
more details can be found on the
u.s.d.a. u.s. forest service or texas parks
and wildlife dept. sites. i'm sure you're
aware that the date specified is well out
of deer season. there are still a few small
game opportunities at that time.

good luck with it

there are hog hunting opportunities
on the public places although a lot of
walking to find 'em, and a lot of paid hunting
private areas to be had.
one i've seen advertised quite a bit is
hearts bluff east of the metroplex, in the sulphur
river area, and caney creek lodge in teague , south
of the metroplex. both offer paid hog hunts, and i've
seen them both advertised for a good while so i don't
believe they are fly-by-night outfits. i do know the
hearts bluff has night hog hunting but i'm not sure
about the other. i'll say right here that i've not
been to either of these places, so i don't
know for sure what kind of deal that you
might get into with them, but i don't think
they would be around for long if they were
not legit. there are quite a few others that
are not as well advertised and i don't know
anything about how legit they are.

i was going to advise you to check
boar hunter magazine in the ads
section, but i didn't realize until
just now that they went belly up
in this great hope and change economy >:(
