Short story, link to great photos, etc.  Why should you care?  There are still at least many hundreds of fine bronze cannon produced there scattered around the US as monuments, in museums, and in private collections.  The photos that I liked best are those showing the beams in the ceiling that formed the suspension point for heavy-duty cannon hoists.  Those structures are real works of art.  Wonder what wood was used-walnut?
