Model 97 questions
« on: December 31, 2012, 11:09:08 AM »
Soon will have a 5 1/2" 97 in .357 coming my way.Been doing alot of research and understand that the OAL needs to be no longer than 1.6".I have some 180 xtp bullets with the two crimp grooves and know I need to use the top one.Having a hard time finding specific reloading data for this bullet crimped in this way.Anyone have a favorite load with this bullet in the 97?Also,is there any holsters out there that I can use for both scoped and unscoped, thanks

Congrats on your incoming 97. I currently have a 97 .357 mag 5.5" with 2 extra cylinders that I will likely be selling to replace with a 3.5" version. Did you order yours new from FA, and if so, how long is the wait? I'm told about 8 or 9 months now. I'll also be looking for a holster, curious what you end up with. I'd prefer IWB but that may be a tall order for a chunky revolver.

I found it on the net.Not new.Put a 2x Leupold on it and it shoots great. No holster yet, would like to find one that's western style that puts the scope on the outside.
