what do you guys think about ,triming a 3006 case to 1.8in. necking up to 44 cal. should be able to get 25-3000fps out of it.

Sounds to me a lot like a rimless 44 cal 460S&W.

It's already been done. I think it was called the .400 Mauser.
An interesting project project.
