Great Article on the .223/5.56 debate
« on: October 06, 2012, 05:07:42 PM »
Cheaper than dirt put this out there today and I think it's the best overall explanation of the Leade issue on .223 guns being able to handle 5.56 ammo.  I personally think I will contact the Michiguns guy and see how my Handi barrel stacks up.  ;)

I read that last night. Printed it out, going to use it in a patrol rifle course I'm teaching this week.

Many mny thanks for posting this link 8) .  I read it just now over a cup of coffee and for the first time I think I not only understand the difference but the history.  Thanks.  My H&R's ONLY use .223's and in my new Mossberg MMR I on't be shooting up tons of Mil-Surp.  Again thanks for this information.

We had a Kid in the area blow up a AR15, last week  with some  Re-Man 5.56x47 ammo (not reloads). He was lucky but the bolt, mag, upper and lower rec. were not so lucky. Mass destruction ,the gas and brass was vented down threw the mag. warped the upper in a helix and swelled the lower in the mag area. A real mess... 26-t
