+1 on pulling the scope rail and making sure all the mounting screws dont 'bottom out' (thus really keeping the rail from seating tight & solid), then remounting it all back up. Several (many?) here recommend the 'bedding' of the rail, though I dont do it (only because I havent found a reason to have to with my mild loads, I guess).
Clean the oils out of the barrel before shooting, and to feel the bore with a tight fitting patch. It should slide uniformly downbore, end to end. Take a look at the rifling and crown to ensure it's good.
Clean the oil off the shelf and locking lug before shooting too.
When ready to go, load a cartridge and close the action 'smartly' to lock it up (not soft and gentle like a finely fitted, well broke in English gun).
Expect to shoot perhaps a couple hundred rounds before it really settles in and you are used to it.
Dont shoot too fast; first round consistent accuracy is the most important in a hunting rifle, 2nd. round next. Shoot too fast and shots may 'walk' as the barrel heats.
Dont get in a hurry to clean it.
Have fun!
