Unusual peep-site T/C

This Hawken is on GunBroker. Never seen a sight mounted like this. I wonder if you could do this to mount a Contender-Williams 'saddle sight'  ?

Looks like a Lyman 57SML to me, I've had several of em, kinda bulky, but work excellent.

that's a lyman model sml peepsight for t/c hawken, lyman trade rifle, deerstalker & similar guns. I have one on my hawken &although it's a bit bulky it works great. much finer & more controllable adjustments possible than with the t/c sight. ya can't really see it in the pik but it has two holes for mountin' on t/c tang in same manner as thompson's peepsight. and if ya want to use it on a renegade ya have to carve a little notch in the stock or use a spacer of some kind. to use the contender sight you'd likely have to manufacture some type of sight to tang adapter. luck & have a good'en friend, bubba.

Anybody know if these will fit on a Traditions Hawken? I imagine a second hole would have to be drilled and tapped. Just curious if anyone knows of a peep sight for the Traditions. TOTW doesn't seem to list anything specifically for Traditions, but this Lyman sight is for T/C, Lyman and 'similar Hawken rifles'...

I put em on several Cabela's Sporter Hawkens, just needed to drill and tap the tang for the forward mounting screw, seems to me I had to modify the sight base for clearance IIRC, but it's been a long time.  :-\
