reloading 357 w/ lil gun
« on: December 24, 2012, 10:53:58 AM »
been trying to find load data for the 357 using 125 gr jhp and lil gun powder.  Have found data for heavy bullets but nothing for the light weights.  Anybody know of anything?

Thanks

I think there are much better powders for that light bullet.  But have you checked the manufacturer's data online.  I think Lil Gun is mainly for heavy bullets as a slower powder.

Dand is correct on this. Lil-Gun is not suited for lighter bullets. That is why there is no data listed for the 125gr. Lil-Gun will work fine with 158-180gr. bullets in the .357. I have used it in .44mag loads and it performs much better with 300 gr bullets than 240gr. If you want to shoot max velocity loads with the 125 gr. bulletin a .357, get some W296/H110.

I get great performance using H110 minimum book load under the Hornady 125gr. XTP in .357.  Used in carbine only at this point, but it's 1/2" group at 50 yards accurate with a little 4x stubby scope.  ;)
