Prospect, Ky. restaurant gets the 'paying it forward' spirit by WHAS11 WHAS11.com Posted on December 23, 2012 at 10:46 PM
Updated yesterday at 11:50 PM PROSPECT, Ky. (WHAS11) – The spirit of paying it forward in the Kentuckiana area is alive and well thanks to a local restaurant.
It started at the Prospect Dairy Queen when one man offered to pay for the order of the car behind him and the generosity kicked into full swing.
More than 40 cars participated in the cause and ended up donating extra money to the cause.
At the end of the night, the Dairy Queen ended up with an estimated $80 that will now be donated to charity.
“Oh it’s incredible. Coming into work today, I got here at 8 A.M. I was like this is probably just going to be an average day. I had no idea that I’d have any impact on someone else’s life let along if it was just a $5 donation or it could get up to $100,” Dairy Queen Angelo Stekardis said. “Just the fact that I’m helping someone is incredible and I’m really happy that I’m able to do that.”
Dairy Queen employees say they will donate all of the extra money they made during this pay it forward chain to the Salvation Army.
