Tenpoint Turbo XLT II

I just purchased a Tenpoint Turbo XLT II crossbow. It is my first crossbow. I searched and researched for almost a year befor purchasing one. It is amazingly accurate. I have shot it a 20 and 30 yds with sub 2 inch groups. I think. I was told not to shoot 2 arrows at the same spot because of the very good possibility of hitting one of the arrows with the other. My next try will be at 40 yds. It's supposed to be good out to 50 yds., but I think that's a little too far.

I have no personal experience with the ten point cross bows. However my hunting buddy has one and swears by them. If I were to judge them by his deer count over the years. I would say they are deadly.

i think you're wise not to exceed 40.
i've heard of folks shooting at 60,
but i don't think it's very ethical for
such a low-percentage shot. i don't
try past my normal bow range.

Even if you hit your target, I wonder how much penetration you would get at that range.

i am told, and don't know for sure,
that a short crossbow bolt sheds
the kinetic energy faster than a longer
regular arrow.
that means nothing to me regardless,
since i strive for an up close shot
whatever tool i may be using at the time.
the old medieval dudes shot longbows and
crossbows several hundred yards at their
opponents, but since we're hunting animals
it's just ethical to try for the close in high
percentage shot. (well- me anyway)

ive got a wicked ridge which is 10 points lower line bow. Its a real good crossbow, much higher quality then the two barnettes i had before it. The 10 points like you have are considered by most to be the best crossbow made at any price. Ive shot a couple and sure wouldnt argue with them.

Nothing wrong with Wicked Ridge. I was told they are the older models of Ten Point. I would have gotten one but they don't come with the Accudraw feature.

I dont think there an older model as theyve come out with some new stuff themselves and the bows look differnt then any of the 10points ive saw. I think its more of a matter of  quality level. Kind of like the differnce between a lincoln and a ford or a caddy and a chev.
