Hammers and clubs kill more than rifles.

First let me say "Thank You" to CBS for posting a rare bit of truth. As this article points out, according to FBI statistics, more people are killed each year by "hammers, clubs, or other blunt objects" than by rifles or shotguns. In 2011 there were 323 murders committed with a rifle versus 496 with blunt objects and 356 with shotguns. Rifles of any sort were used in less than 1/2 of 1% of all homicides. By contrast, 745 people were killed by bare hands, more than twice as many as by rifles.

Many thanks Joe, however we know that statistics and reality have no effect on hoplophobes.  It IS good information to use when writing your Senators and Rep. though.
