On June 1, 2011 I bought a new Kahr p380. On June 20 it went
back to the factory. I got it back 2 weeks ago and it never worked.
The worst malfunction is the fail to fire but had every other malfunction
you can think of. I got rid of it and will never use a Kahr pistol
even if it was given to me. I'm posting this so others will not
be aggravated and lose money like I did.

i will have to respectfully disagree , i have (2) a .40 and a .45 both mk series in stainless steel and have carried one of them daily for years at work and off duty qual with it 2 times a year and hae never had a single issue with eaither, evan after and i am sad to say - being carried for weeks without cleaning - right out of the holster and bang bang bang every time

There are people that have bought guns that worked, that is why
I gave Kahr a chance, I should have researched the internet first
and saw what has been said. next I would like to explain why the
Kahr is of poor design and not to trust your life to one.

The Kahr uses a cam with 2 hands, 1 pulls the striker back the other
depresses the striker block. If the timing is off the gun will not fire.
The striker block is large with a step to block the striker, in case gun
is droped so that it will not go off accidently. The striker is large and
hollow with a stiker spacer that holds the spring, not mention the plastic
rod behind the spring. The striker spacer is not needed and if it shifts
while firing it will hit the step inside striker block slowing down speed of
striker, gun does not fire. Look at the steep ramp that they had to polish
like a miror just to maybe get it to feed. The angle is all wrong, fail to feed
happens because the bullet enters to high and is pushed against top chamber.
I could continue to go on but I don't feel redisigning the Kahr pistol. Why
take a chance when there are other guns that never have problems.

Some Kahrs have problems...anything plastic for example. My all steel K40 has been 100% reliable since day one...I trust and carry it every day and shoot it often. It has never failed to feed, fire, extract or eject and works equally well with hollowpoints or FMJ ammo.

I have a Kahr .380. It would not feed. It was returned to Kahr. It still will not feed. I would not buy another Kahr .380.

I have a Kahr CW9 and when I took it to the range the first time it would shoot only 1 to 2 rounds out of 10. At home I found out what my problem was, the ammo I was using was some I had reloaded 7 or 8 years ago with a plated bullet (Berry's ?) and they were seated and crimped in one step and had a small bit of the plating rolled up against the case mouth and wasn't allowing the rounds to fully seat. It would seat enough to let the firing pin fall but must have been putting a bit of drag on it as the primers had light firing pin marks. I took a couple and scraped the bit of wrinkled jacket material off and they seated and fired fine. Since then (800 or so rounds) it has been utterly reliable and has become my CCW gun and is carried everyday. It really loves Remington Hollowpoints.

When I first fired the gun it malfunctioned 4 to 5 times per mag for the
first 200 rds. Thinking that there is a 200 rd break in period, I fired another
100rds. I called Kahr and they sent me recoil springs. 300 rds later the gun
still not working, I called Kahr, shoot it more while it is really lubricated.
200 rds. later, I called Kahr, they said send the gun, that cost me $75 with UPS
over night "cause it was a handgun". I sent the gun on June 20 and got back
in Sept. Kahr's customer service was very nice, they said it was a bad frame
and that 250 bad frames got out by mistake, they also replaced striker and
entire lower parts. Gun was test fired at factory, I got it back and the only
malfunction that went away was the fail to fire; the gun still fail to feed 3 times
a mag. Look on the net, some people sent their gun to Kahr 3 times; NO THANKS.
It's gone, have a Sig 238, it works. what did it cost me: $600 for gun, $75 for holster
I can't use, $350 in ammo and $75 to mail it; that's $1100. In my trade I maybe
got $500 back out. Kahr----BAD GUN

JJ I would never buy another Kahr .380. This one is to gun show and not coming home.

I had a P-9 that didn't feed even fmj. It went back twice, it was never fixed. I lost $300 on that deal, never again. At least Ruger, Smith and Wesson will pay shipping both ways on problem guns.

My Wife has confiscated my CW9 for herself so I picked up a new CW45, it functions flawlessly and is pretty accurate. we both carry them for CCW.

CW9 with over 700 rounds, not 1 issue of any kind. Had a PF9 and after first shot with the CW9, the Keltec was history. Gave it to my brother in-law.

sorry to here you got a bad gun. there are a lot out there doesn't matter what you pay or brand name .the problem is they only test fire them once.a lot of times or it's the ammo.a lot them need breaking in for sure my keltec p11 is one that eats every thing i feed it had the carbines still no problem even with reloads.the factory should pay for shipping.i looked at some that they say are junk .i dont believe all that is said some are junk and have engineering flaws for sure auto's for sure.some you can fix others no go.

I had a CW40 that would not reliably feed even after 500 rounds and 2-3 trips back to the factory. I got rid of it. The problem is that I liked all other aspects of the gun so much (trigger pull, fit to my hand, size, and accuracy) that after a few months thought I bought a K40. I'm glad I did. It's been 100% reliable from the very first shot and retains all the likeable qualities of the CW40. It has earned a trusted place on my side.

I bought a Kel Tec SU16. The iron sights would not zero, they just wouldn't move far enough. Tried a scope on the built in rail. Wouldn't adjust far enough to zero. Tried another scope with different rings. Not enough adjustment to zero.

So, I sent the rifle back to the factory. I included a letter saying that the reciever was misaligned with the barrel and it needed a new reciever. About a month and a half later they got around to returning it. The iron sights were now zeroed, but when I tried the scopes I had tried before, the shot to the same place they had before I had sent the rifle back. All the factory had done in the 45 days they had it was to replace the front sight assembly with one that worked.

Too bad the SU16 rifles are junk, they are a good concept, a super light semi auto 223, but the workmanship and costomer service stink.

I just gotta wonder, were did these chronically malfunctioning junk guns go to?
I know my enthusiasm has been crushed by buying a bad used piece, and I just know too that somebody else knew it was bad and didnt have the * to tell me about it's 'issues'.

I think they go to people who just don't know any better. I advertised the SU 16 and sold it the same day, and had many other calls. I explained to the guy exactly what the problems were. By then the irons were sort of zeroed, and I had shimmed the scope mounts so it was zeroed, but the gun was about the least accurate gun I ever remember owning. The guy that bought it knew all that, but he still couldn't get his money out of his pocket fast enough.

yep i sent a gun in to get it fixed bad slide firing pin off center marked slide got it back with same slide i called the factory talked to the president he sent me a new one. fixed good now after i told them what was wrong with it.
