Nope Bug, and do I detect a mocking tone...Its all common knowledge, and could be knowledge available to you if only you used your computor for what it is designed for, and to discover some of the issues about cases like this. BTW, I do have a background microbiology among other things......

As a matter of fact, I did quite a bit of reading on the subject before I got my flu shot, since I hadn't taken one in several years. and since I turn 70 in three months and since the flu can kill old decrepit folks, I figured better safe than sorry.
I read many sites on the facts and dangers.  I also read a couple that was against them merely because they were recommended by the government.  so I made my choice.  YMMV

Lakota, I got my flu shot in October.
Thats good you exercised your freedom of choice and your dominion over your own body. You are protected and now you dont have to worry about the vaccination status of other people you might run into.

you still refuse to answer my question.  would you insist on wearing your gun if you were a prison guard.
Probably not. A prison is one area where not having a gun on my hip for some nut job to grab from behind me is a good idea. Where I ran EMS we responded to a SuperMax prison. All we were allowed to take inside with us was the ambulance gurney. We werent even allowed to take in a pen. I can see the point of these policies too. I have worked in EMS for 17 years. Never got a flu shot and never got the flu. I even refused the N1H1 swine flu vaccine during that craze. They even tried to guilt me into taking it. "We paid for a vaccine that isnt going to be used." They should have checked with me first. I wasnt the only one who refused it either.

and concerning rights. I said that your rights end where someones elses' rights begin. could you address that?

Somone else's rights dont begin inside my body. Force someone to take a vaccine they dont wish to recieve today...what's next for tommorow? Forcing a terminal cancer patient to take unwanted treatment? Forcing an End Stage Renal patient to take unwanted dialysis treatments? It is a slippery slope.

I have never said that a person should be forced to do anything against their will.
go back and read the OP.  the hospital was following the guidelines suggested by the CDC, because of the many chances that people could die.
I'm sure that all employees were notified in advance of the new requirements in time for those employees to make other employment arrangements.  but sometimes a few folks buck the system and they should not be surprised if they get pink slips.
and if they go to another hospital, that hospital will ask why are you leaving your current job?
they'll be shown the door.  working in a hospital brings with it certain responsibilities, such as caring for extremely ill patients without endangering that patient.
watch the news, we are in the middle of the worst flu epidemic in a long time. and part of the reason is that people don't want to take advice from the "government."
you are okay with going into a prison without even a pen because that's the rules.
why can't a hospital have rules too?  and remember, when the symptoms show up, it's too late to send the doctor/nurse home, they could have already killed a patient or two.

No hard feeling Bugeye but there is nothing you can ever say to me that would make me agree that it was OK for this hospital to fire people who refused to allow foreign substatnces to be injected into their bodies.

The US Medical community uses (at most) about 10% of available biomedical knowledge. Do this: ask your doctor what is the best multivitamin you should take. The standard answer will be, "You get all the vitamins you need from the food you eat." Then you should ask, "What do I eat?" They'll just look at you funny, because they do not know. MDs know NOTHING about nutrition, herbs, homeopathic treatment, acupuncture (even the ones that have had the 100 hour "acupuncture for MDs" farce), naturopathic and holistic medicine, etc. MDs are just people, and they are just people who are fed limited information by AMA sanctioned sources, which means directly from big money pharmacy companies. There are herbs, for instance, that can kill MRSA and C-Diff (both kill thousands in US hospitals), and herbs that can slow the advance of cancer and liver disease--- but you will never get them in US hospitals. There are effective treatments for diseases that the AMA, and hence, MDs simply reject because they disagree with the results of the research--- not DISPROVE, DISAGREE. Want to get mad? Read this:

Absolutely! Docs are "LIPs" (Licensed Independent Providers) which means that, even the ones with hospital salaries are contracted professionals. Most of them are only "associated" with a particular hospital, not employees--- so, you get a bill from the hospital and a separate bill from the Doc. If you've ever tried to change docs while in the hospital, you know how hard that is, because then the hospital has to convince another independent provider to take a disgruntled patient. Only the docs in high risk areas, like L&D, the ER, etc., and sometimes Interns and Residents,  are on salaries (high salaries at that!) because the hospital pays their liability insurance costs, which would be very high. BUT, there are different rules for docs than for regular employees--- different parking, different benefits (hospitals feed the docs for free, for example--- in fact, places like Vanderbilt in Nashville have a special 24/7 dining room for docs only, so they don't have to eat hospital food.) Want to cut health are costs? Stop the bennies to the MDs and administration-- like they don't make enough money already! The truism in western medicine today is "we do it all for the patients."  The hell they do. They do it for the money, plain and simple.
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

I think I'll get me a doctor suit and a fake name tag and start eating at the hospital. I'll save a bunch.

Lakota, if everyone agreed about everything, this would be a dull place.  as long as we agree about the 2nd amendment, we're good. :)
