The only place I have heard of there being any hogs to hunt in Iowa is down in the SE corner of the state. And I've only "heard" about it, don't personally know anyone who has hunted or taken one.

After doing a bit of searching on the web, I've found that actual "Russian Boars" are illegal to possess in Iowa. However it appears that at least one outfitter is offering hunts for them, taking his chances that the DNR won't nail them for it.

However it IS legal to shoot/kill domestic gone feral hogs in Iowa and there is no season for them. The catch then is, do you book a hunt with the outfitter and take your chances with the DNR, or do you try to find the elusive feral hogs out there?

As  previously noted, I've heard about hogs in southern/eastern Iowa, but I know of no one who has actually hunted or gotten one.

some folks in this area had a hog get loose, it ended up hanging out in a really rough landlocked timber, eventually died or was killed. Heard it would charge anything that came near.
