Coming to the end of the Season
« on: December 24, 2012, 11:09:27 AM »
Just curious as to the success others in Texas had this year.

My count, with one weekend left to go are:

4 deer
Two turkeys
5 fat Hogs, ranging from 60-100lbs.

I'm hoping to get one more deer this next weekend to fill the tags. ;D

Seen a lot of whitetail, shot 1 8pt buck, 2 hogs, 1 mouflon ram.   Going on last trip to the hill country Monday.  Saw 30 turkeys on my last trip.   Too many small bucks.

Lots of small 16 inch young bucks early in the season. Too many acorns for feeder hunting. They r just now coming to the feeders. Got a couple of doe 2 weeks ago and going back the last weekend to get  another one. Will see what happens. Happy new year and happy hunting.

no deer this year.
saw more really nice big bodied
shootable deer this year during
archery seas. , but none in range.
miffed one shot at a trotting buck
that wouldn't stop and he did stop
as i released and it went right between
his feet. after general started there
were so many atv's on the adjacent
properties, of course the deer went
nocturnal.
gonna start on the coyotes soon.
might spend the night out and wait
to see if the pigs are out for a stroll.

hopefully, the state will get off the
trophy-raising kick and let some of
these pencil racks and does be harvested.
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .
