My opinion differs on the guns. I bought several semi autos as an investment. Seems like the best time to cash in. I've been listing them on gunbroker and selling them off. I have no need for several of the same rifle. This time seems a little crazier than the last ban with the guns. The local stores had full shelves of the banned guns quite a while after the law was passed. Prebans sold for a good bit several years after. But at least locally prices didn't go up before the ban like they are now. On gunbroker they are paying double or triple for complete rifles and 3-5 times the price for lowers. I bet there will be some remorseful folks if this dies down in a few months.

I think more relieved than remorseful.  IMO this is the most dangerous time in our history since the "War of Northern Aggression".

SharonAnne says;
  " although I am a 'paleface' my ancestors had nothing to do with the plight of the Native American. My ancestors were Irish potato farmers who arrived in Canada as indentured servants. Basically slaves who could buy their freedom, after many years working for the Lord of the Manor".

  I find your bit of history to be interesting.  My first progenitor in the new world arrived in New England from Scotland circa 1651 or 1652.  He didn't come direct from Scotland, but was shipped by Cromwell as an indentured worker.  During their civil war, many highlander POWs died in prison camps...survivors sold out of country.  He served out his term and became a successful farmer & businessman. In order to succeed in business since Scots were practically non-existant in N.E. at that time, he found it necessary to drop the "Mac" in front of what is my current name.  Most Macs were combined with usable names, such as , MacDonald, MacGuiness, MacAndrew, MacTaggart or MacIverson.
   Do I hold a grudge against Cromwell's descendants or the English in general?  No way... that was long ago and those who "did the deed" are long since dead and being angry with today's British subjects..would not only be silly, it would be like "beating a dead horse".

Finished my research, and doubled my money when I sold the AR today. Bought a Remington 700 Tactical in 223.

I have a line on a Springfield Armory National Match M1A, walnut stock, stainless steel barrel for $1,230.  MSRP $2,373.  I will let you know what happens.

I lugged one of those around for several years, a few years back. It was big and cumbersome, heavy, accurate, and expensive to buy such things as magazines and such, when you could find them. Great rifles, but not very portable.
It was, and is, in my opinion, kinda like the 1911. Great for it's time, but something better has come along.
Good luck on your gun deal.
