watching part of a documentary today
about the m.l.k. shooting, i noticed when
they were showing photos of james earl ray's
belongings and firearms and such, they showed
the receipt where he was supposed to have
purchased the rifle. the purpose of showing it
was, i think, to show where he had used an
alias to purchase the rifle since the name used
on the receipt was the center of the picture.
but i noticed on another part of the receipt
it read " CAL. - .243 WIN .
it's been my long understanding that j.e.r.
used a 30/06 remington pump rifle.
did the filmmakers just boo-boo, or is
there something else to know?
