Lee Cast Iron Press
« on: February 19, 2004, 02:40:14 AM »
Has anyone seen the Lee cast iron press?  It's a heavy duty version of their O press.

I never knew they offered such a thing.  I thought maybe it was new for 2004 so I checked their website.  Lee's website doesn't have anything of the typical hype that usually accompanies a new introduction.

What's up?

Could Lee be making an attempt at offering a "top of the line" set of reloading equipment?

Yes it is new for this year.  I saw an ad in a past issue of Guns Magazine.  I think this press is neat.  I contacted Lee a few months ago about it.  It is built to load cartridges the length of the .50 BMG.  It has an insert at the top that, when removed, allows the use of large ring BMG dies.  The handle is adjustable in length so you do not have to make big sweeping arcs to load smaller cartridges.  This really is a breakthrough for Lee.  Most BMG capable presses easily run close to $250 and up.
