Yep, back then the Dems were all about segregation - at least in the South.  Republicans joined with some Northern Dems to pass the civil rights laws.


Condi Rice tells the story of how her father became a Republican.  He went to the Democrats and asked to be registered and the refused.  He went to the Republicans and they were glad to get him!

I thought everyone knew that . He also didn't get along with Jessie as well as we are lead to believe
he did.

Republicans have always been the better party for blacks.  they were not given handouts.
they were encouraged to better themselves with education.
the democ-rat party is still about slavery.
