New 30-30 barrel

A few days ago I lucked out and found a new never had a round put in it 30-30 barrel with scope mount and rings for $175.00. I finely got it out today to try it out and do a little breakin. I got to say I found a real gem I put 40 rounds trough it four different loads and it shot all great. I must say I did realy lucked out. I had ran across a NEF but was talked out of buying it and realy glade I didn.t. Next time I will try some different loads.

Yes, I agree that a contender is a step up from a handi rifle. Factory support may not be there any more but there is lots of after market support.

I have noticed that barrel prices are climbing as the supply dries up on cheeper factory barrels.  I believe you got a good deal on your 30-30 in today's economy.
