Anyone shoot a Savage 12FV?
« on: March 14, 2013, 02:28:54 PM »
Just wondering how popular this rifle is for Varmint hunting?
I see several used & wonder if they are a good buy?
Thanks.

Sorry I missed you yesterday. I have two 12fv's. Both are dedicated prairie dog rifles. One is a factory 22-250 and the other is a re-barreled 220 Swift. Both shoot the 60gr V-Max underMOA at 200yds consistantly and minute of PD out past 400yds.
IMHO the 12fv is outstanding for the money.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!!!

I have one in .22-250. It's very accurate - sub MOA to at least 200 yards with 55 grain PSP's. Overall, it's an outstanding rifle. It's heavy enough that you won't want to carry it too far, but it works great in a bench rest or on a solid bipod.
