H & R Topper 158 / 30-30 / 1970
« on: January 26, 2013, 03:10:37 AM »
Friends:

Scope Base

Not sure what's available from Brownells or Midway will fit my 1970 rifle?

Where do I find a scope base for this rifle?

Thanks!  Grandpa Crusty

I like the short Picatinny style scope rails for the Topper with its profiled barrel. The one below is made by Warne.

cjrjckAre you saying that the Warne base fits the smaller diameter Topper profiled barrels?

I thought so but I may be wrong. The top barrel came off a Topper 058 and now sits on an sb2. It was probably painted but I can't tell it from the bottom which is a 258. Both came with rails attached so I never paid much attention other than I like the Picatinny better.

Okay,

Although I never really checked, I am beginning to believe the Handy Gun 2 has the standard NEF/HR hole pattern. Still like the Picattiny better.
