Handloading Model 97: What diameter bullet for 38/357?
« on: January 29, 2013, 09:01:08 AM »
I'm new to handloading and was thinking of picking up some Speer #4624 (158 gr lead SWC) or #4628 (158 gr lead SWC-HB) which says the bullets are 0.358" diameter.

Is this the proper diameter for handloading 38/357 for my Model 97 in .357 mag, or do I need 0.357?

Do I need to lube this bullet?

Size it differently?

Lead bullets are usually .001" larger than a jacketed bullet. You will be ok. I suggest you get a couple reloading manuals and study them carefully.
