Trigger guard & spacer replacements...

...by Moyer's Gun Repair in Mtn. Home, ID....the website indicates: "...some fitting may be required..."

Does anybody hear have any experience with these parts? If so, was "fitting" required and was it slight or significant?

Good luck with any of Moyer's garbage, he's had his chance with me.  FWIW Midway has his parts listed as discontinued by the Mfr, great reviews there too.

I've been corresponding with Moyers Gun Repair about the lack of quality and fit on his TG and spacer, his last email was a response forwarded from another customer that complained about the poor fit, basically the same issues that have been discussed here. I even offered to send him a trigger guard so he can see what's wrong with his copy, I've sent him numerous pics showing the discrepancies in his copy which he seems to blame on us as not knowing what we're doing, he thinks that his trigger guard is an exact duplicate of a modern TG, but I think he's using something very old that has changed since he thinks the rear part won't fit a frame unless he cuts that part away like he does.

I won't be ordering any more of his TGs or spacers, maybe he'll get the message and make some improvements, he could charge a bit more money and it wouldn't be bad if he'd make them fit like they should and match current production parts.

OK, sounds like the consensus is way less than positive. I guess I'll just forget I ever heard about him.

Anyone know of any good alternatives for steel or brass replacement parts?

There are no trigger guards unless Toth is making them, they have offered spacers tho.

 I bought a metal Ruger Speed Six trigger guard, it has the same basic shape and lips as H&Rs. I'm going to try and graft (epoxy?) the H&R innards on top of the Ruger guard. Will need to cut, grind, fit, etc.. There is a boatload of old metal H&R pistols trigger guards floating around that might work on a project like this too.

Yeah I saw that TG Mike put on his HR....didn't care for it at all.   Appreciate your research for me though.

I'm looking for something that is made for the application. Wonder why Toth doesn't make one? Seems like they'd have a fair amount of orders...

They did, some of us have them, but they're so complex they aren't easy to make, that's why Talley backed out on them after working on them for 2yrs, see poll in FAQs. I've sent factory spacers and trigger guards to about a dozen different members that wanted to produce them, Toth is the only one to come thru and they only made one run of the TGs which were sold.

The TOW TG-P1-I pistol guard is the same size bow as the Handi.  With a hand bent/shaped metal strip fastened to the rear, you can make it like an African stalking rifle guard similar to the TOW TG-EXPRESS-1-I [too large]. The TOW TG-FOWL-SA-I has the same size bow as the TG-PI and would work also I think.  Both would work for a straight wrist stock.

The Toth Tool forend spacers are well made, well finished and fit without modification.

This is the trigger guard I got to use on my 45-120 or 50-140 Handi.  I haven't tried to fit it yet though.
