Hi all! Let's see it's been about 35 years since I've trapped. I'm from Mass. and it's just about illegal to trap here. I still love it though. With any luck I'll be moving in the near future to a state where I can hunt and trap without all the problems we have here in this state.I just stumbled onto this site and I think I've read every post on the first three pages. I've pulled out my books ( I still got em) I'm going nut's I'll have to wait until next season. I have plenty to do though I have to restock up on traps and suppies and such. Thanks for being here.

And of course, there are other aspects to trapping that never really go away either.
The unique odor of coon fat comes to mind. It never really goes away.

When driving down the road and you pass a stretch with a recent skunk kill. While everyone else in the vehicle is wrinkling up their noses, you just can't help but find it just a little bit "OK" to whiff once and awhile. It just brings back some interesting memories, that's all.

I find myself looking over every bridge we drive by, looking down each fencerow and weedy draw through fields, etc.

It never really goes away.

Its also very important to feed your soul, also. If these are things you love to do, its healthy to pay attention to that "need".

You know Jim you are right while I don't love the smell of skunk I kinda like it and when driving my wife will tell me "will you stop looking in the woods and just drive". :)

Welcome and welcome back :D

What part of Mass do you hail from?  I was in Mass just about the time they outlawed trapping.  I remember when they outlawed land sets...all had to be drownig sets.  This old fart trapper (Rascal reminds me of him :-D ) figured he'd need a five gallon bucket near each set LMAO.

I live about 4 miles from the Gillete stadium. It's too bad to I've seen lots of mink, fisher, coyote, and otter around here.
