22 hornet range report
« on: February 04, 2013, 01:13:23 PM »
Well got everything fitted and went to the range today. 28 degrees fresh snow on the ground and 15 to 20 mile winds. All that said i dont think to bad. Got some ppu 45 grain sp ammo because i needed brass anyway. Got them sighted in at 503 then went to 100. They shot like bird shot at 100. I only had a few cases to load so loaded 4 rounds with sierra 45grain and 4rounds win 45grain sp. Both with 13grainsthe lil gun.  Col was 1.720 which is sierra list #. All in all not to bad for the conditions. Have more brass now so will work up loads and different lengths for next trip but i think there is promise. Pics are 100yard targets

The foxes and even squirrels should be nervous.... And you havent tweaked the loads yet. I bet you will get it dialed in. Good job.  thejanitor

Don't look too bad for a Hornet. I've had some pretty good groups with some Hornets but they seem to have a mind of their own sometimes. Tighten the groups the best you can and have fun with it. It's a fun little round.

I'd ream it to 221 FB ;)  Good Luck.
