Chair Blinds
« on: February 06, 2013, 09:32:49 AM »
I got one of those chair blinds last year. Took in on one hunt and decided I really don't like this.  Here I sit with my vision blocked behind me.  A call sitting out front squeeling.  What am I going to do if a Grizzly decides to check out the call and is coming from behind me.  Now I need my partner to get one so he can sit facing the other way when the caller is on.

I was discussing this with a friend, when he told me he had a Brown Bear walk within 30 yards of his blind with him in it, going to his caller.  The rest of his trip he sat in a chair behind the chair blind.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

i never have owned one, but i've
sat in one and they're not for me.
i use blinds mostly for these whitetail
deer around here, and if you just set it up
and try to sit in it right there, you'd be
best off to bring a book to read.
they'll be wary of the thing for 7-10 days
after it's set up. it's like if  you came home
and one was in the middle of your living room.
it's way out of place until they get used to it.
i set up the blinds i
use a month before bow season and they
don't come down until after firearm season
is over.
bears have been scarce here since the drought
so i can't speak of the effectiveness for use
on bears.
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

No bears around here.
I have shot deer out of mine.
Had 3 gobblers walk around both sides of it once; never saw me.
No luck with coyotes out of it.
I put mine in the thick stuff next to an open area, like a green field.
Great for when I leave work late to go hunt and have to hunt in business casual.

"it's like if  you came home and one was in the middle of your living room."
Reminds of the time a kid came over in a ghilley suit one day. Laid on the floor of our den next to a wadded up afghan. My son came in the room and sat there for about 20 minutes without even noticing the kid in the ghilley suit lying on the floor.
The difference between people who do stuff and people who don't do stuff is that the people who do stuff do stuff.
